Nick Williams named Academic All-State in Cross Country
The Iowa Association of Track Coaches named Charles City senior Nick Williams Academic All-State for the 2024 cross country season.
Criteria includes a grade-point-average of at least 3.8 and to have qualified for the State Cross Country Championships or finish in the top 30 in the state-qualifying meet.
With a sixth-place 5K time of 16 minutes, 22 seconds at the most-recent SQ, Williams qualified for state for the fourth-straight year while his PR placed him 28th amid the Comets’ Top 50 Male XC times.
Williams and fellow Comet four-time state-qualifier Xander Graeser will run in the Class 3A boys race on Friday (Nov. 1) at 11:15 p.m. at Kennedy Park in Fort Dodge.
