PAWS visits Prologue

A pack of page-turning pets piled into Prologue bookstore for a Snuggle and Read program on Friday, April 26.
PAWS Humane Society brought in a selection of animals looking for new homes to meet with kids at the bookstore. Cats Henry, Lily, Grayson and Loki came out to socialize during the event, along with playful puppy, Razz. The children spent more than an hour petting and playing with the animals, watching them explore and chase toys around the store in-between group story time.
“Everybody was supportive and the kids loved walking the cats on the leashes,” said PAWS Director Julie Taylor.
Bringing the pets out gives them a chance to explore a new environment and much-needed visibility to the public as they wait for a new family to adopt them. The event brought in a busy crowd of families to play with the animals and see if they might be a good fit for their home.
“It was a great turnout,” said Prologue owner Darcy Tracey. “My hope for the animals is that they all get adopted.”
Coming up next month, PAWS will be in Mason City for Tattoos for PAWS Rescues with Emerald Ink on Saturday, May 11.
